Kwango mask Africa 9 inches, animal skin, cloth, wood, beads This well-made mask has the words "Kwango" and "Popokabaka" written on the back. I don’t have a clue what this means. Hopefully my ignorance will be your gain. The face is animal hide with short, black fur. It has a cotton quilted backing. A friend tells me
that Kwango is a river and Popokabaka a town. Both are in the Congo
Republic.
