Q: I bought this wooden mask many years ago and never have found out it's origin. It has a moveable jaw. Jennifer, 11-06-11

A: Monkeys are important characters in the traditional dance dramas of Bali where they delight the audience during comic interludes displaying mime and acrobatics accompanied by gamelan music. It fits on the head nicely and the mouth can be manipulated by the dancer.
