Old Character mask Bali, Indonesia 13 inches, painted wood Larger than the typical character mask, this old carving has been repainted several times and now has a attractive patina. I believe this is a very fine early piece and quite rare in its size and style. This mask is illustrated in the book, Masks from Around the World. Of course, may be from Java.
