Spaniard mask Diriamba, Nicaragua 8 inches, painted wood This classic mask has been used in the Gueguense performance which is part of the festival of St. Sebastian. UNESCO has designated this festival as a Historic Masterpiece. The people in the Carazo Province of Nicaragua are Nahua which may explain why the style is so Mexican. Thinly carved out of hardwood, the mask is in excellent condition other than some paint loss on the end of the nose. sold
