Leather Tigre Mask Zitlala, Guerrero 12 inches, leather, mirrors, string, boar bristles I must begin by saying that I have little experience with this type of mask, or with leather masks in general. I might add that it is my impression that there are on the market many made for sale masks of this type. On the other hand, the design of this mask is certainly in keeping with a well documented tradition in Zitlala, Guerrero. In Zitlala two dancers wearing such masks engage in combat, striking one another on the head with hanks of rope as part of a fiesta which appears to have pre-conquest roots.
