Viejo Mask Guerrero, Mexico 8 inches, painted wood Used for the Dance of the Tecuanes, this simply carved mask bears the name “Tex” on its nose. There are staples under the nose which undoubtedly held a mustache. There are holes on each side of the nose, halfway up, which must have held some decorative element at one time. Two teeth are covered with cigarette foil. This design is frequently encountered in the state of Guerrero, usually without a name. It has good wear, front and back. There is a crack under the mouth which doesn’t extend above the mouth. sold
