Pascola mask Sonora, Mexico 7 5/8 Inches (excluding hair), painted cottonwood root with horsetail. Significant wear This Rio Mayo human face Pascola has the typical form for masks from the Mayo region of Sonora, so its shape is rounded and wide, and it has longer brows. On the back, it demonstrates a level of wear that is indicative of repeated use. The carver is unknown. It probably dates from around the 1980’s, but this is mere speculation. One is on safer ground to simply say that it has been danced a lot. sold
