This mask is very well carved, and although repainted crudely, it has a powerful presence. It is heavily worn on the back, demonstrating a lot of use. I like to imagine the effect of this mask combined with a costume and hat, on a dancer. The mask would be dramatically very effective and, when displayed on a wall with the other Puebla masks, clearly stands out as the strongest member of the group.
