Spaniard mask Totonicapan, Guatemala 7 inches, painted wood, glass eyes Here is a classic, old, used mask from the early 1940’s. You could call it a Spaniard or a Conquistadore because it is from the Dance of the Conquest. It could also be an Indian soldier because they often the ones with brown eyes and black hair. There is a "SH" morreria mark carved on the upper-right of the back. It has been repaired and repainted many times, but this just adds to its charms.
