Masks like this one were made in limited quantities and either sold or rented by costume shops in the 19th and first half of the 20th centuries. I would call it a tramp or hobo, but it could also pass for a Leprechaun. Probably used many times and beginning to show its age, it is still is a great-looking piece of American folk art... a lot of sculpture for the money.
