Bear mask Japan 7.5 inches long, painted starched gauze pressed over a mold Made in Japan for the US market, these cheap little Halloween masks sold for a dime in the early 1950’s. They were what most children wore for Halloween back in those days, that is, if they didn’t use a 5-cent eye mask or burnt cork (free). Very light and flimsy, the mask rarely survived more than one night of wear. It was pictured in the book, "Masks from Around the World." $35
