Green God mask Rajbansi people, Terai region, Southern Nepal 11 inches, painted wood Masquerade is still part of an ongoing tradition in the Terai. The dramas were staged at festivals such as Shivaratri, Diwali, and harvest time. They consist of stories from the particular village’s history, along with the traditional tales from the Mahabharata, Ramayana and other Hindu myths. I can't vouch for its age or authenticity, but it certainly looks old. SOLD
