Hanuman, the monkey god, was a devout devotee of Lord Rama and had played a very important role in the battle between Lord Rama and King Ravana. He is usually associated with celibacy and strength borne out of celibacy and is said to be having the purest form of devotion towards Lord
Rama. Hanuman is also said to be a very learned being and has also played a role in the battle of Kurukshetra, as chronicled in another Hindu epic, Mahabharata.
