SW Texas, USA 9 inches long, painted papier mache, wood A wonderful folk art mask made out of heavy papier mache and with sharp wooden spikes stuck in the forehead to represent the crown of thorns. It is missing one thorn but is otherwise in perfect condition. Probably made for an Easter play. Signed by the artist, K. Snyder, I’ve categorized it as Mexican because it is in that tradition, even though it was made north of the border.
