Alto Lucero, Veracruz 7.5 inches, painted wood This type of Moor mask is used in the Central Region of the State of Veracruz for the Dance of the Christians and the Moors. They are also used for Carnival and play a more humorous role during these festivities. Painted in bold colors with different patterns on a narrow V-shaped face, these masks have a unique style that can be found no where else in Mexico.
