Malinaltepec, Guerrero 8.5 inches, painted wood This style of mask with its protruding, blocky eyebrows is typical of several Moor and Christian dances in the state of Guerrero, in particular La Danza de Moros Cimarrones. It also features a cool beard and unusual, pointed teeth. Purchased by Rob Bryson from the carver, Odilon Solano, a Tlapaneco Indian who claims it was used off and on over a period of 20 years.
