Ram mask Xantolo Dance, Northern Hidalgo 7 inches, painted wood Here is an antique Xantolo mask from the Huastec people of northern Hidalgo. Xantolos are supplicants who go from house to house during the Day of the Dead celebration. They can take the form of humans or of many different kinds of animals. The famous Juan Negro dance also originates from this area. This great looking ram is obviously quite old, but with no damage. SOLD
