These masks were used or new (meant to be used in village celebrations). Many are from the Collison Collection with descriptions by Dr. Brian Stevens. All are organized by state from North to South. 20 different states are represented. These masks are not for sale, but you are welcomed to look at them. Decorative Mexican masks
Instead of being performed by dancers, these decoratives are sold as art or souvenirs. Often they don't follow tradition, and the better ones prove that Mexican carvers are true artists who create wonderful painted sculpture that anyone would be proud to display. Most collections fail to recognize this important category.
