Bird mask Middle Sepik River area, PNG 23 inches, wood with natural pigments, shells I think this is from the Mwai tribe. Whether it is a mask that is worn or a plaque to be displayed on the lodge wall, I am not sure. The fact that the bird is sculpted in the round might argue for the former. A very striking piece of sculpture. SOLD
