Long-nosed spirit mask Lower Sepik River, PNG 26 inches, wood, dark stain A large, carved wood mask
collected in the1970’s from Ulawa Island, Lower Sepik River area,
Northeastern Papua New Guinea. More deeply carved than most I’ve seen
and in very good condition. A small crack, which you can see on the
photo of the back, does not detract from the beauty of this simple
design. The rear shot looks shorter and wider than it really is.
