Kendo mask Okinawa, Japan 16 inches, steel rods, leather and cotton padding Modern Kendo (sword-fighting) is both a sport and a martial art. Although it originated from military activities in ancient times, nowadays lots of people enjoy it as a sport. In 1957 Kendo was adopted to the physical educational programs of many schools in Japan. Made by Shuraido, this is an authentic Japanese Kendo mask of very high quality. It has been used, but is in good condition. This item is pictured in the book "Masks from Around the World." SOLD
